A Brief History
AKL, established in 1998 in the back yard shop of Kenny and Beth Longbrake has grown in ten years to a 55 acre OCT tubular supply and ASME code and non code manufacturing facility. AKL has grown through strategic relationships with small independent oil and gas producers, supply store distributors and major producers. AKL’s success and growth has been based on moral and ethical business practices of supplying a quality product at competitive prices and standing behind what we have sold.

AKL began reconditioning back pressure valves and moved into reconditioning of used oilfield equipment at a time the oil and gas industry was struggling with low oil and gas prices and every operator looking for means of survival. Used equipment meant dollars saved and profitable operations in a depressed market.

In September, 1999 AKL took a great leap and purchased a used OCT facility in Drumright, Oklahoma and began to market used reconditioned oilfield casing and tubing from wells being plugged northeast Oklahoma. Six months later in July, 2000 AKL purchased an independent oilfield supply business in Cushing, Oklahoma located at its present location. This allowed AKL to combine its original used equipment business and its recently acquired used tubular market with new supplies to expand into a new client base.

In September of 2000, AKL purchased a roustabout, trucking and lease operating company in Oilton, Oklahoma and eventually purchased an additional 50 acres joining its Cushing location and combined all the operations at the Cushing location. In 2001 AKL purchased a trucking company in Cushing and expanded the service aspect of its operation.

In May of 2006 AKL made a major change in its operation and constructed a 3200 square foot manufacturing facility at its Cushing location. With this facility AKL began manufacturing gas separators, steel stock tanks, gun barrels, and compressor and pumping unit skids.

In May of 2008, AKL received its authority to manufacture ASME code vessels and now has the capability to build or repair ASME code vessels as well as its non-code products. Want to learn more meet the team.
